Beckman Coulter Biomek Tips P1000 Span-8 Sterile Filtered Wide Bore
With a full 1 mL capacity and a tip orifice diameter twice as large as standard tips, the Biomek P1000 pre-sterile wide bore tips are made for the Span-8 automated attachment. The barrier on these tips reduces the possibility of sample cross-contamination from aerosols. The P1000s are useful in several applications: library construction for next generation sequencing sample prep with a viscous bead mixture; stem cell research to reduce the inadvertent cell lysis of large cell-aggregates of embryoid bodies; nucleic acid preparation to minimize DNA shearing; cellular applications where pipetting of viscous solutions, such as glycerol solution, is commonly used; bio-fuels/bio-energy research where cellulose slurries may clog standard tips; and crop research/seed development where samples may contain large particulates.
